Recently published in the Official Gazette – issue no. 26 dated February 1, 2023 – the Ministerial Decree establishes criteria and procedures for accessing compensation measures for costs incurred in implementing adjustments to radio and television transmission systems.

It is recalled that, to ensure television reception for the population in mountain communities and other areas where, following the switch-off, television signal reception was not guaranteed, Law Decree 115/2022, known as the Aid Decree bis, authorized an expenditure of 2.5 million euros for the year 2022 for the adjustment of transmission systems, authorized for reactivation as they were not subject to interference.

The newly published Ministerial Decree stipulates that municipalities, mountain communities, or other local authorities or consortia of local entities not included in the internationally agreed radio-electrical coordination zone with neighboring countries can access this benefit.

Entities wishing to benefit from the compensation measures under the Decree must submit an application to the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, which will evaluate the granting of the benefit.

Technical adjustments to the systems for which the contribution will be recognized must be completed within five months from the date of publication of the list of beneficiaries, failing which the compensation measure will be revoked. Following the implementation of these system adjustment interventions, beneficiaries of the measure must submit to the administration, within thirty days, a detailed list of documented expenses supported by invoices and/or accounting documents certifying the expenditure.

The benefit will also be revoked if the documentation is not provided or if it is found that the beneficiary has made false statements or false declarations, including documentary evidence, in the application or attached documentation.
